Queensland Home Stretch campaign up and running

Queensland Home Stretch campaign up and running

There’s exciting news for Home Stretch in Queensland, with the establishment of a new state campaign Steering Group and planning well underway for the Queensland launch.

The group comprises executive-level representatives from key community sector stakeholders including Peakcare, CREATE, Life Without Barriers, Mercy Community Services, UnitingCare, Queensland Foster and Kinship Care, Churches of Christ Care, Community Living Association, IFYS, and Anglicares across the state (Southern, Central and North).

The Steering Group is chaired by Lindsay Wegener, Executive Director, Peakcare.

The Queensland Home Stretch launch will be held on 28 November, at the Queensland College of Art theatre at South Bank, from 10am-11.30am.

Please join us to hear from young people, carers, professionals and academics calling on the Queensland Government to provide young people in state care the option of extended care to 21 years.

Anglicare Southern Queensland is providing secretariat for the campaign in Queensland. For more information or to get involved, contact Leanne at advocacy@anglicaresq.org.au or 07 3838 7553.
